Blinkers is a non-profit project space based in Winnipeg on Treaty 1 territory, the traditional territory of Anishinaabeg, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota, and Dene Peoples, and on the homeland of the Métis Nation. Blinkers exists to exhibit, promote and create an engaged critical dialogue with the work of emerging, early career and experimental artists from across Canada. We are committed to assisting in the exhibition of works that are ambitious in scale and concept, experimental, new works which represent the current moment in Canadian contemporary art through all mediums including video, sound, painting, photography, sculpture, installation, and new media.
On June 20, 2020 we posted a statement of accountability for ourselves, and a statement of solidarity with the ongoing political actions of Black and Indigenous organizers in Winnipeg.
Accessibility
The main floor of Blinkers can be accessed using a temporary ramp, which goes up two steps at the front door, on Hargrave. The parking lot behind the building is fully wheelchair accessible (entrance to the parking lot is by sidewalk, approx. 90 ft north east of the front door). The basement is not accessible, including the only washroom in the building.
